Bruce's friend and student, screenwriter Stirling Silliphant, wrote the pilot of Longstreet with Bruce in mind. Titled Way of The Intercepting Fist - the English translation of "jeet kune do" - it gave Bruce the rare opportunity to explain the concept behind his martial art. Bruce's antique dealer character, Li Tsung, teaches jeet kune do to the blind Mike Longstreet, played by James Franciscus, after rescuing him from a beating. The response to Bruce's character was so good that they worked him into three other episodes, but unfortunately he only appears briefly.
There is a current letter-writing campaign to get US TV stations to show Longstreet. You can join it by going to the Longstreet Fan Site.
