Shannon Lee was born on 19 April 1969. She was four when her father died. Shannon is married to Ian Keasler, and they have a baby called Wren Lee Keasler, who was born in December 2002.
CAREER
On Rapid Fire she was brother Brandon's assistant. She makes a brief appearance in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993), singing California Dreaming. Shannon had a bit part in The Cage II (1994) but her action debut was in High Voltage (1997).
Her second film was And Now You're Dead (Gwan geun shut daam) a.k.a. Enter the Eagles/Phoenix (1998), co-starring Michael Wong, directed by Corey Yuen. She was trained by Benny Urquidez and tae kwon do expert Delon Tan Tao-liang for the film. Click here to read a cool review of the film. This link reviews the film from a martial arts perspective. In the same year she narrated the Bruce Lee documentary Path of the Dragon and made a guest appearance on Samo Hung's Martial Law, in the episode Takeout, as Vanessa Feng. She moves very well! Also in 1998 she had a bit part in Blade, playing a "resident".
In 2000 she appeared in the TV scifi film, Epoch. It was directed by Matt Codd and stars David Keith, Ryan O'Neil, James Avery and James Hong. The visual FX supervisor was kind enough to mail me some info. He says Shannon "appears in a number of scenes but does not have a large or interesting part in the film". I think that it was shown on the SciFi channel. Below is the BBLA's synopsis of the plot:
"Billions of years ago, Torus, a massive, mysterious structure of unknown alien origin crashed to Earth. Now, it has emerged from the ground in a remote part of the world and is hovering above the planet's surface, causing natural disasters and global panic. Mason Rand (David Keith), a top-secret weapons specialist, is called in to unlock the secrets of the structure. When he discovers a secret doorway into another world, he discovers that the future of humankind may possibly rest on his shoulders."
Epoch is available on DVD (as Epoch: Evolution) from Amazon.com.
Lessons for an Assassin followed in 2001. Apparently it is "a full-length, Hollywood style action movie". Shannon got top billing in this film. It also stars Robert Vitelli and Michael Dorn (Star Trek TNG and DS9's Lt. Worf). The film is available on DVD from Amazon.com.
Judging by the reviews of the various films Enter the Eagles is still the best Shannon appeared in.
In November 2002 Crowfans.com had news about a TV series starring her, being worked on by Will Smith. This might be Section Zero, which Over-brook Entertainment was supposed to pitch to the networks in fall 2000. Based on the now defunct comic?
